Day2 ( 2011.7.8 )

Men 3000mSC Final 1st Abubaker Ali Kamal2011.07.09 0:40
I am very satisfied that I won the Asian Championships. I won the 1500m gold medal in 2005 and bronze medals in both 1500m and 800m in 2007 in Jordan. I won another bronze, this time at 3000mSC in 2009 although it was just after Ramadan and my condition wasn't perfect. Today, the humidity was very high and the air wasn't clean, which made it hard to breathe well. But my condition was good. Right after coming back from the calf injury, I won gold medals in 1500m and 3000mSC in a competition in Saudi Arabia in April this year. I think I have got back into my great shape. My goal now is to win the gold medal in the World Championships in Daegu.

Men 100m Final 2nd Masashi Eriguchi2011.07.08 22:10
I lost. I was going to win, so it's very regretful. I had not passed the standard record yet, so I wanted to win this race very much in order to move closer for the national squad. (About being disqualified once for a false start but being put back into the race soon after his disqualification was canceled) I can't say anything about whether I was calm enough to deal with it, now that I lost the race. (Just after the race) I don't take it calmly yet at this point. After performing well in the first round and the semi final, I couldn't run as good in the final. That's shameful.

Men Triple Jump Final 1st Yevgeniy Ektov2011.07.08 22:00
In the last Asian Championships, I was 3rd place. I have never been a champion before. So I am very happy. My condition wasn't very good today, but I wanted to do what I had to do. It feels good to get a good result. I would like to be well-prepared for the World Championships, and want to jump over 17.20 and 17.30.

Women 400m Final 1st Olga Tereshkova2011.07.08 21:20
I have won the Asian Games twice in the past, but this is my first Asian Championships title. So I am very happy. My condition was not very good because of the high temperature and atmospheric pressure. From now on, my goal is the Olympic Games and clearing the standard .

Men 400m Final 1st Yousef Ahmed Masrahi2011.07.08 21:20
I am very happy that I have qualified for the World Championships. I am ready. My condition was very good today. I am currently living in Germany where the weather is different from that of here. But it's much hotter in Saudi Arabia. So the weather didn't bother me. I take each competition as my goal every time I compete. My next goal is the World Championships, followed by the Arab Cup, and then getting married after that. So I am looking forward to them.

Men Decathlon final 1st Hadi Sepehrzad2011.07.08 21:00
I am very happy to be the Asian champion. I injured myself in the long jump(during the Decathlon in the Asian Games in November of 2010), and couldn't compete for five months (note that his first competition this year was SP on April 14). I am glad that I could win the first Decathlon since r ecovering from the injury. Since I haven't competed in the Decathlon this year, I was not expecting to compete in the World Championships. If I can compete in Daegu, I will be very happy.

Men 100m Final 1st Bingtian Su2011.07.08 20:20
This year, I changed my race strategy. Before this year, I gave my all out in the first 60m and often ran out of my stamina in the last 40m. But by distributing my effort throughout the race, I am able to keep my pace until the finish line. When I joined the national team camp in May for the first time and saw other runners,I thought I would get even better by changing the strategy that way. So I told our coach about it. If we couldn't have got a good result this time, that would have meant my suggestion was a failure. So I am very satisfied with the result. In the World Championships, I am going to run the relay. I don't consider Japan as a rival but as a role model.

Women 100m final 1st Guzel Khubbieva2011.07.08 20:20
I am happy to become the Asian Champion for two reasons. One is that I won this title for my first time. And the other is that I could win in Japan which I really love. I have been here for many occasions including the Asian Championships in Fukuoka in '98, the World Championships in Osaka and Golden Grand Prix Kawasaki. I like it because people here are very kind and they respect old cultures. My big goals for this season have been winning this competition and racing in the World Championships. In the World Championships, reaching for the semi final is one of my goals.

Men 1500m Final 1st Mohamed Alazemi2011.07.08 19:00
Since I have prepared well, I was in a good condition. So despite such a hot and humid weather, I ran a good race. I think my winning of the gold medal will bring more interest to this event in Kuwait. That was my first 1500m of my career. I will run 800m tomorrow. I want to win the gold medal for 800m in the World Championships in Daegu, Korea.

Women Discus Throw Final 1st Taifeng Sun2011.07.08 18:20
Thank you for the big cheer and warm supports from the stand; because of them I could achieve today's good results. It was the second best in this season (after 61.47m from Halle on May 21), and I am relatively satisfied with it. My condition wasn't bad. Actually from the warm-up, it was very good throughout the competition. My goal for this season is to be selected to compete in the World Championships (in Daegu).

Men Pole Vault Final 1st Daichi Sawano2011.07.08 15:35
First of all, I was expecting to win it. My goal has been to be the best in Asia before competing at the world level. Last time in Guangzhou, I couldn't win. So this time I really wanted to regain the Asian title back. Now I am relieved that I have accomplished that. Yesterday, the competition was postponed because of the rain, and after the schedule change, the condition was even harder with the strong wind. I am convinced that Pole Vault is really a competition against the nature. But I was in such a good shape this time that neither rain nor wind bothered me at all. And another good indicator today was the fact that I was able to complete my warm-ups only after two run-ups. If I can do this every time, I can compete anywhere in the world. I couldn't clear (5m) 72cm (A Standard), but it was just because I changed to a stiffer pole but couldn't adjust well to the new pole. That's something I need to keep working on.

Men 400mH Round1 Heat1 1st Takatoshi Abe2011.07.08 15:20
I couldn't accelerate well in the first half of the race, because I missed the first hurdle, the headwind was strong along the back straight, and I missed the third hurdle, too. I want to run better tomorrow.

Men 400mH Round1 Heat1 2nd Yuta Imazeki2011.07.08 15:20
I didn't do well. I was too tight while running, I hit my legs at the back (straight hurdle) and lost my time. In the final, I will push hard from the first half. The final is what matters most. I'll do my best.

Men 400mH Round1 Heat2 1st Takayuki Kishimoto2011.07.08 15:20
My condition was bad. The heat got me, and I had pain in my leg which bothered me during the run. I will get a treatment and get myself ready for the final. I will switch my mind and go for it.

Women 400mH Round 1 Heat 1 1st Satomi Kubokura2011.07.08 12:40
My plan was to run with the good pace only in the first half to conserve energy. However, my transition of steps (between the hurdles) did not go as planned and thus I had to adjust my steps (before the hurdles) in the final part of the race. The race was not as easy as I expected (she laughs). I will do it right tomorrow
