Day4 ( 2011.7.10 )

Women High Jump Final 1st Xing Juan Zheng2011.07.11 0:00
I was aiming for 1.95m which ties my personal best from 2009 and the A standard. So I was disappointed (with winning with 1.92m). There is still some gap between world's top jumpers and me. If I get selected for the World Championships team, my goal will be to be a finalist. To accomplish that, I will keep working on my weaknesses through many competitions

Women Shot Put Final 1st Qiangian Meng2011.07.11 0:00
I was happy to receive loud cheers from the Japanese fans in the stand. This stadium is a very lucky stadium for me. I would like to thank the Chinese Athletic Association for giving me a chance to compete here. In China, there are many athletes who are better than me. So I need to win against them. My ultimate goal is to surpass my coach's (Sui Xinmei) record, 21.66m.

Mens Javelin Throw Final 1st Yukihumi Murakami2011.07.10 21:00
(The winning record of) 83.27m is my personal best, but the throw itself wasn't so great. From the first to the third attempts, I couldn't take long enough stance, and it made my throwing motion too compact. In the fourth attempt (in which 83.27m was set), I could throw after patiently waiting for my left foot to hit the ground. I think that was the key for that record. Over 85m is necessary to compete for medals in the World Championships. I think I'm surely getting to it.

Men 4x100mR Final 1st Japan
(Kawatsura, Eriguchi, Takahira, Saito)
2011.07.10 19:35
Kawatsura : I was a little nervous because I hadn't have many chances to run first. But I came onto the track telling myself to run like running a 200m. I felt that I didn't start off well, but I think the rest was good enough.

Eriguchi : (After losing in his own 100m race, ) I could barely change my mindset for this. I felt a little tired in the second half, but overall it wasn't so bad. I am happy for us to win.

Takahira : Wind was blowing around in the stadium, and I had to adjust the timing of the start after coming in there. (Between the 2nd and 3rd runner) there was a simple mistake of a baton pass, so we need to improve the accuracy. But after all, I think it is good that we didn't lose.

Saito : I was expecting a bigger lead before me, but it was a little different. After receiving the baton, I ran right by (the second place runner) for a while. But in the second half, it seemed he slowed down.

Men 200m 1st Femi Seun Ogunode2011.07.10 18:45
I am glad (to be the Asian champion), but it was too hot today. (Speaking of today's condition, )it was too hot for me to show all my skills. My goal is to win the gold medal in the World Championships. I like to run short distances. (Asked about his nationality.) I am from Nigeria, but moved to Qatar for a chance to improve myself. (Asked about Usain Bolt and whether he wants to be like him.) He is a great athlete. But I don't want to be like him. I just want to be myself and keep getting better.

Men 110mH 1st Xiang Liu2011.07.10 18:45
The race overall was OK. It was very hot and I was a little dizzy before the race. So I couldn't warm-up very much. But my condition was relatively good. I could relax and run. My concentration wasn't enough from the start to the first hurdle, but I could gradually pick it up from the second hurdle. I am satisfied with the new championship record. My goal now is to be at the start line in the final of the World Championships, and then the next is to win a medal.

Men Long Jump Final 1st Xiongfeng Su2011.07.10 18:15
I competed in this competition with confidence. As a representative of my country I could win. So I am happy to be able to proudly report the good result to my country. My condition was good. It was already hot at the sub-track, so the temperature in the stadium didn't bother me. I am already unofficially qualified into the World Championships. I want to get a good record and finish in the top 8. I plan to compete in the Summer Universiade.

Men 800m Final 1st Mohammad Alazemi2011.07.10 17:40
Following the gold medal in the 1500m two days ago, I won another one in the 800m today. I am very happy to get two golds in this Asian Championships. I had won gold medals before, but this is my first time to win two (in the same competition). As my race was scheduled at 3pm, then I was already tired from high temperature and humidity. My condition wasn't very good. But I won with the strategy of going behind the Japanese runner and surging hard in the last 200m. My goal now is to win the 800m gold medal in the World Championships in Daegu in August. I have no plan to compete in the 1500m.By the way I am also glad to be part of this competition in Japan. It was so full of hospitality and well managed with good punctuality.

Women 100mH Final 1st Yawei Sun2011.07.10 17:15
I broke my personal best for the first time in two years, and I am very happy. While this is my second straight title in this Asian Championships, last time I was a little lucky because I won by only 0.01 seconds. I have never competed in the World Championships yet. I will keep working out how I'm supposed to do it, then if I get selected, I will just do my best.

Women 3000mSC Final 1st Miki Hayakari2011.07.10 17:05
It was really really hot, and it reminded me of the World Championships in Osaka (in 2007). It's a pity that I missed the (World Championships) "B" standard by a slight margin. I can't seem to improve my time from this level this season. Considering opponents I faced in the final, I thought I had a chance to win so I was targeting to win. The Asian Games last year was a tough race to run, so I was going to run the race with my own rhythm.

Men 800m Final 4th Masato Yokota2011.07.10 16:00
That's regretful. I wanted so much to clear the A standard and advance to the World Championships that I charged hard early. I finished first 400 meters in 51 seconds ( as I planned after the first round), but I felt relatively hard. Later (where heading into the home straight) I still was at a not-so-bad position, but after that our true abilities showed clearly. I will keep practicing in order to be able to maintain a fast pace and surge even harder at the finish.

Women 200m Final 1st Chisato Fukushima2011.07.10 15:15
I didn't do well on some key points, so I think I could have gone faster. Although I think I should have taken more advantage of this race, in the first round I found a knack of what it takes. So that's what I could get out of this whole competition. Anyway, I am glad that I could win.
