Day1 ( 2011.7.7 )

Men 10000m Final 4th Tsuyoshi Ugachi2011.07.08 01:30
Winning this race was only way to get the ticket for World Championships, but the result didn't go well. I was not good enough. I knew Bahrain runners had accelerating ability. In my case, the only way to win was to make a decisive move in the middle of the race, but I couldn't have done. I just say I wasn't good enough.

Men 10000m Final 3rd Akinobu Murasawa2011.07.08 01:30
I was expecting both possibilities that it would start slow or fast from the beginning. But this kind of shaky race was beyond my expectation. I had never experienced such a big change of pace as up by 6 seconds at once. But even for such a race, I think I could have done better. Especially what I did in the middle of the race is regrettable.

Women 10000m Final 5th Kaoru Nagao2011.07.08 01:30
We had three runners who had records of 31'50" something and my coach told me to keep up with them as much as possible. The World Championships was at stake and the pace became slow. During practices my condition wasn't as good as before Hyogo Relay and the National Championships. I knew I wasn't in good shape. But as long as I run for Japan, I wanted to do my best. I wish I could have done better.

Women 10000m Final 4th Hitomi Nakamura2011.07.08 01:30
I was expecting that it would heat up much later in the race, but it happend a lot earlier and I couldn't adjust to it. I went for medals at last, but the Indian runner who finished 3rd was fast. I didn't have enough speed.

Men 100m Semi Final Heat 2 2nd Yusuke Kotani2011.07.08 01:30
My task of Today was to run in the Final, so I'm satisfied with the task achieved with no problem. I have been practiced for the final in this event so far. I strongly thought I needed to pass the qualifying rounds looking at Kawatsura also qualified.

Men 100m Semi Final Heat 1 3rd Sota Kawatsura2011.07.07 22:00
I was worried about this race because my body wasn't really in shape in the qualifying round. But I could incredibly concentrate on the race at the starting point, and I felt "I got it". My feeling is getting back, so I'll do my best tomorrow.

Men 100m Semi Final Heat 1 1st Masashi Eriguchi2011.07.07 22:00
I felt my body was in shape in the two qualifying rounds including the Semi Final. It'll be a good mood for the Final tomorrow. I knew my condition was good and could set my run for the Final.

Women Long Jump Final 9th Hanako Kotake2011.07.07 22:00
For me, this is the first event as Japanese international including the Junior day. I was in good shape, and the rain didn't really matter for me. Because the atmosphere in the pit was totally different from domestic competitions, I couldn't figure out my condition. For the reason, I couldn't fix that during the three attempts. I'm sorry about the result. I'll make use of this experience in the Universiade Championship held in August.

Women Long Jump Final 7th Kumiko Imura2011.07.07 22:00
After the Japan Championship, my condition was getting better with satisfactory training, but I got some discomfort in the back of my hamstring. Then, I couldn't have done a strong takeoff. I'm disappointed that I couldn't be in perfect shape for this event.

Women Long Jump Final 3rd Saeko Okayama2011.07.07 22:00
Compared to the Japan Championship where it went really bad, I'm happy with my jump, 6m50 range. But I'm disappointed at the result (3rd place, 6m51). I felt, "I made it!" as soon as I jumped off (at the 6th attempt, 6m51). My feeling was the jump was enough to take over the 1st place, but I disappointed at (not reaching by 5cm) when I saw the mark (6m51). This time I was mentally more prepared than I was in the Japan Championship. Thinking about that, I'm very disappointed.

Women 100m Round 1 Heat 3 2nd Nao Okabe2011.07.07 21:05
After the start, I found some runners in front but could run steadily. I could run a good race that lets me keep the momentum to tomorrow. Anyway, tomorrow (Final) is the most important one. I'll try well-prepared to perform more than I can do now in the Final.

Women 100m Round 1 Heat 2 3rd Momoko Takahashi2011.07.07 21:05
After the Japan Championship, I practiced focusing on my strength, the late part of run. That was getting better but... I felt fit during the warming up, but my body seemed to take a bit higher position, looking back the race. With not qualified, I really feel it did something I shouldn't have done.

Women 100m Round 1 Heat 1 2nd Kana Ichikawa2011.07.07 21:05
I focused on passing the first round and didn't really got nervous about the rain. The good think is that I found my run gained speed during later half of the run. After the race, I headed to the medical room. That's because I got a slight tightness in the back of my left thigh. Becaouse of a lot of upcoming races including Universiade Championships, I tried to make extra sure. It seems no problem found so I can stay hard for tomorrow or later.

Women Hammer Final 3rd Yuka Murofushi2011.07.07 18:00
I was worried about the condition after Men's Discus throwers who threw in the morning told me that the throwing circle was so slippery by rain. But I had no problem because the pit we used was on the other side. Actually, my back (which is a longstanding problem) wasn't really fit. For the reason, I threw a hummer unconsciously protective toward my back. I believe this year is for the next year made better. My condition was so bad early in the season. And I was wondering if I could continue throwing. Now I'm just happy that I can fully challenge performing in stead of some concern. The performance of Aya (who won the Championships) was fantastic. It is difficult for Japanese thrower to win the throwing events, I'm really glad although she has been my competitor

Women Hammer Final 1st Masumi Aya2011.07.07 19:20
I just want to say, "I'm happy".I was concerned about the weather but was able to concentrate on what I need to do. After I threw 66m21 in the second attempt I felt ready to throw 67-68m range. I strained too much (for a new record) in the 6th attempt (which caused me to foul). If the result had been in 68m range, it would be perfect for me. Anyway, I'm glad that I could throw my season best in such a condition.

Men 400m Round 1 Heat 3 3rd Yusuke Ishizuka2011.07.07 15:40
I was nervous to be honest. My condition was good, so I tried to make my bid in the Final. (Kanamaru and Hirose passed round 1 at 1st place) I wanted to pass the round 1 as they did, but It didn't went well. Qualified for the Final, I would like to push myself hard and hopefully pass the B standard.

Men 400m Round 1 Heat 2 2nd Hideyuki Hirose2011.07.07 15:40
I pushed myself too hard, but I'm happy to be qualified. Though I'm not really in good shape, I hope to pass the entry standard and run in the World Championships in Athletics.

Men 400m Round 1 Heat 1 1st Yuzo Kanemaru2011.07.07 15:40
I just cared about an order of arrival. The race itself wasn't really good because It seemed I was pulled by the front runners on the first 200m. I'd like to make my own race and win with 45s in the Final.

Men Discus Throw Final 9th Shiro Kobayashi2011.07.07 13:30
The record (49m 95) was not good. Other throwers set their throw. After all, I wasn't capable of getting to it. The top five throwers had records of 60m or more. We were not really even, so I hoped to get into 6th. I cared too much about the slippery circle because of the rain. I couldn't make my throw, but that's not because I slipped or it rained.

Men Discus Throw Final 6th Shigeo Hatayama2011.07.07 13:30
I couldn't make a good turn because the slippery throwing circle made me nervous. Throwers from other countries were also getting in trouble with the same issue. Thinking about that, the result was satisfactory. - What do you think about the result of "6th" It is the same as the last Championship. I was at the 3rd or 4th place in the second and third attempt. I watch for an opportunity to set a big one, but it didn't go well.

Women 400m Round 1 Heat 2 Sayaka Aoki2011.07.07 13:30
I haven't done enough performance. I was qualified, so I would like to be well-prepared to do my best. I'll push hard in the Final.

Women 400m Round 1 Heat 1 Miho Shingu2011.07.07 13:30
The race was for the Final, so it was good one. I had set the paceearly on because a runner who had good record was on the outside lane.

Women 400m Round 1 Heat 1 Chisato Tanaka2011.07.07 13:30
Though I didn't really had satisfactory training after the Japan Championship, The race was good for tomorrow setting the personal record.

Men 100m Round 1 Heat 4 5th Sota Kawatsura2011.07.07 13:30
I wanted to speed up with the low position, but I couldn't do it. My body didn't move at all. That may be because of the lack of warming up. - The record was indecisive for the next round. If I was picked up, I'll try my best with well-prepared condition.

Men 100m Round 1 Heat 2 1st Masashi Eriguchi2011.07.07 13:30
We got a bit long interval to the Semi Final. The main event for me is the Final tomorrow. Then, I've got five more runs including a relay race. My plan was how I could set the race managing my fatigue during the Qualifying round. It was a good run,

Men 100m Round 1 Heat 1 2nd Yusuke Kotani2011.07.07 13:30
I got surprised that two of others were disqualified after false starts. - How do you feel about the race as Japanese international for the first time? I got nervous. I felt my body was fit in the qualifying round, so I controlled to run for the Semi Final.
