On the Day 2 of the Asian Athletics Championships, the weather dramatically changed from the rainy Day 1 to a strong sunshine day at Kobe Universiade Memorial Stadium in Kobe, Japan. Daichi Sawano(JPN), who won his specialty in 2002,2005, regained the gold medal again. "This time I really wanted to regain the Asian title back. One of good indicators today was the fact that I was able to complete my warm-ups only after two run-ups. If I can do this every time, I can compete anywhere in the world." Sawano, who has now won three Asian Championships in his career, said of his great performance with a shining smile.
Men 400 x 100m R Japan squad (Kobayashi, Eriguchi, Takahira, Saito) passed qualifying round in Heat 2 at 38.92sec. Guzel Khubbieva (UZB) won the gold medal at Women 100m, while Kana Ichikawa (JPN) was forced to withdrew from the race. At Men 100m, Chinese new star, Bingtian Su (CHN) gained the title with 10.21sec. Hadi Sepehrzad (IRN) won the first ever gold medal as an Iranian Decathlon athlete.
On July 9th, day 3 of the championships, 9 finals including Men Hummer Throw,. Men and Women 400mH and Men and Women 5000m will be contested.
